Next AI: Product Image SEO/GEO

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how NextGeneration Software LLC (“NextGeneration Software LLC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information in connection with the Next AI: Product Image SEO/GEO application (the “App”), a Shopify app that helps merchants audit and optimize their product imagery, alt text, and product content for SEO and generative-engine optimization (GEO) directly inside the Shopify admin.

This policy applies only to the App. It does not apply to any Shopify service, any merchant’s storefront, or any third-party website or service. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Who we are

The data controller responsible for the App is:

NextGeneration Software LLC
192 Bear Christiana Rd, #2016
Bear, Delaware 19701
United States
Email: nextgenerationsoftwarellc@gmail.com

For the personal data of store visitors and customers that may flow through Shopify, the merchant (store owner) is the data controller and NextGeneration Software LLC acts as a data processor on the merchant’s behalf. As described below, the App is designed to avoid processing buyer personal data at all.

2. Information we access and collect

When a merchant installs the App, Shopify grants the App access to a limited set of store resources using the permissions (scopes) below. We access only what is needed to provide the App’s features:

  • Products (read_products, write_products): product titles, descriptions, handles, tags, status, variants, and associated metadata — used to audit and improve product content for SEO/GEO.
  • Files & media (read_files, write_files): product images and image metadata (including alt text) — used to audit image quality and to generate and write back optimized images and alt text.
  • Locales & translations (read_locales, read_translations, write_translations): the store’s configured languages and translatable content — used to localize alt text and product content.
  • Themes (read_themes): read-only theme and storefront context — used to assess how product imagery and content appear to shoppers and search engines.

Data we store

To operate the App we store the following in our own database and file storage:

  • Store and configuration data: your .myshopify.com domain, app/onboarding state, brand and optimization preferences, and the OAuth access token Shopify issues so the App can call the Shopify API on your behalf.
  • Product catalog metadata: a working copy of product, variant, and image metadata needed to run audits and track changes.
  • Audit and recommendation data: audit runs, findings, scores, recommendations, applied changes, and rollback snapshots.
  • Generated assets: images, alt text, and content produced by the App’s AI features, stored as artifacts so you can review, apply, or roll them back.
  • Operational data: activity logs, job queue records, billing/subscription state, and diagnostic logs used to run, secure, and debug the service.

Data we do NOT collect

The App is built to stay out of buyer personal data. We do not request, access, or store:

  • Customer or buyer personal information (names, emails, addresses, phone numbers).
  • Order, cart, or checkout data.
  • Payment card or financial account details.

Because of this, when Shopify sends the mandatory customers/data_request and customers/redact compliance webhooks, the App has no buyer personal data to return or erase, and it acknowledges those requests accordingly.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above only to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the App’s features.
  • Run image, alt-text, SEO, and GEO audits and generate optimization recommendations.
  • Generate optimized images, alt text, and product content using AI, and — only when you approve — write those changes back to your store.
  • Track applied changes and enable rollback.
  • Process billing and manage your subscription through Shopify.
  • Monitor, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your store’s data to train any third-party or foundation AI model.

4. AI processing

The App uses Google’s Gemini API (Google’s Generative Language API) to generate images, alt text, and product content. To do this, relevant inputs — such as product images, titles, and descriptions you choose to optimize — are sent to Google for processing and returned to the App. We send only the content needed to perform the requested task, and we do not send buyer personal data. Google’s processing of this data is governed by Google’s applicable terms and privacy commitments for its API services.

5. Service providers (subprocessors)

We share information only with the service providers needed to run the App, each acting as a subprocessor under appropriate data protection terms:

  • Shopify Inc. — the platform the App runs on; source of the store data we access and the provider of app billing.
  • Render Services, Inc. — cloud hosting, application database (PostgreSQL), and file storage where App data is stored.
  • Google LLC — AI generation of images, alt text, and content via the Gemini / Generative Language API.

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.

6. Billing

Subscriptions and charges for the App are handled by Shopify through Shopify’s billing system. We do not collect or store your payment card details; payment information is processed by Shopify under Shopify’s own terms and privacy policy. We receive only your subscription and plan status from Shopify.

7. Data retention and deletion

We retain App data for as long as the App is installed and as needed to provide the service. When you uninstall the App, Shopify sends a shop/redact request (typically about 48 hours after uninstall, which also serves as a grace period to reinstall). On receipt, we delete the store’s data — including configuration, catalog metadata, audits, recommendations, and generated asset files — within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records to comply with legal obligations.

You may also request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us at nextgenerationsoftwarellc@gmail.com.

8. Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, isolation of each store’s data, and secure handling of OAuth access tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to promptly address any issues.

9. International data transfers

The App is operated from the United States, and information may be processed and stored in the United States and in other countries where our subprocessors operate. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers of personal data.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Merchants can exercise most of these rights directly by managing data in the App or by uninstalling it. To make a request or ask a question, contact us at nextgenerationsoftwarellc@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

Where NextGeneration Software LLC processes buyer personal data on a merchant’s behalf, we support the merchant in responding to such requests; data subjects should direct their requests to the merchant operating the store.

11. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for use by businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
